Trump promised to end foreign wars but he never said anything about all of his own personal and domestic wars. Now he's renaming the DOD to reflect his desire to be a military despot..

Re: Washington, DC, Residents Protest Against Trump
"Several thousand protesters march to oppose Trump's troop deployment Justice Department data shows violent crime at 30-year low in D.C D.C. Attorney General files lawsuit against troop deployment, citing unconstitutionality https://portside.org/2025-09-06/washington-dc-residents-protest-against…"
Not half true. The protest on the 6th was advertised for weeks. I met someone from NH, and a group of 60 that had bussed down from VT posted pictures. From the videos, it was well over 10,000 of us.

They’re going to have to start electing these types of people.

Ignoring crime, is one way to claim he reduced it. Just like Covid.

Nauseating, isn't it?

Understand that MAGA wants women to submit to their husbands. When a wife pushes back and gets beaten by her husband, this is OK with Trump and MAGA. I find that repulsive.

Immigration issues? Not quite. Der Trumper seeking to punish So. Korea, a highly reliable ally, for objecting to the size and scope of the Fat Man's tariffs.
viewed by the Koreans as detrimental to their economy. Alleged immigration violations a convenient opportunity to express disapproval of Korean audacity.

The US Supreme Court doesn't even follow its own laws, aka THE CONSTITUTION, and has ruled to allow Trump's ICE goons to violate the rights of Latinos in Los Angeles through illegal mass raids by real and fake Federal agents. Racial profiling is now the Law of the Land. No matter, ICE Elmer Fudd says, "Be vewy, vewy quiet. I'm hunting immigwants."

Re: Need I List All the Reasons Why Trump Shouldn't Get a Nobel Peace Prize?
Anyone who would rename the Department of Defense the Department of War is obviously not interested in peace, but more concerned with war. That should disqualify him from any consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize. More like the Nobel War Prize would be the one for Trump.
Barbara Fields

Thank you for featuring Sidney Blumenthal's article; I hope it's read before the Nobel nominating body in its entirety, should Trump's name ever manage to disgrace the list.
Blumenthal's opening lines hit hardest, citing the millions overseas who were unfortunately first to realize how much of a humanitarian Trump is not. His are slow, painful war crimes of willful neglect, tolerance, and contempt.
It's rather appropriate that a few biblical references were included. The world hasn't known anyone so closely aligned with "the Devil's" agenda since Hitler. The numbers Trump has already cruelly affected are staggering. Sure, your run-of-the-mill, insane war criminals like Putin still persist, but at least they don't go around strong-arming world leaders for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. They're content to simply steal, destroy, and mass murder within drone reach. It takes an elevated, brazen disdain for one's fellow humans to extort and manipulate the way Trump does for undeserved honour and fortune. Does he hope that, if there is a Judgment Day, he'll use his medal as a bargaining chip in an Art of the Deal with The Almighty?
He's obsessed with recognition from scholars and dignitaries from whom he will only ever get scorn and ridicule. MAGA's deification of Trump cannot possibly satisfy; it's child's play to him, knowing they're gullible enough to accept his lies for the sake of a restored "white" America. He knows his sycophantic Cabinet flatter him for the sake of greed and power. But like the biblical devil, he doesn't need admiration and respect, even if welcome; he wants capitulation, submission, and fear.
Legacy as a peace maker can't possibly be what this drive is all about, because he doesn't care about future generations. If he did, he wouldn't have imperiled their well being, their government, and their environment.
A Nobel won't undo his 10 years of close association with Epstein, either. But perhaps, with a Nobel to flaunt (which will promptly transform into one far better than Obama's), he plans to avoid another impeachment, or the severity of consequences from state and federal prosecutions, post-next election -- should he fail to cancel it.

Apparently Bernie can't distinguish between Socialism and State Capitalism. He should know there can be no socialism without democracy and no democracy without socialism.

Re: The MAGA Influencers Rehabilitating Hitler
This bullshit was all over the Hearst-McCormick press in the early forties. It's taken that long for the people who knew the truth about Fascism to die off.

=====
Far-right media figures are aggressively pushing propaganda that rehabilitates Hitler, wrapping this in provocative revisionism to blur the line between villain and hero. Prominent influencers—such as Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Darryl Cooper—are actively questioning established history, suggesting Hitler has been unfairly maligned or downplaying his genocide as a “misunderstood” crusade.
This revisionism isn’t fringe anymore. These individuals reach mainstream audiences through top podcasts and massive social media followings—turning dangerous narratives into culturally palatable pitches. Their influence grows as the number of firsthand Holocaust witnesses dwindles, creating fertile ground to reshape collective memory and weaken the moral bulwark against anti-Semitism.
This trend signals a chilling attempt to unravel our historical consensus, embolden hate, and reforge identity in service of authoritarian ideology.

Webinar - Meet Delia Ramirez, Champion of the Block the Bombs Act - September 15 (Peace Action)
Monday, September 15th, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. ET, 6:30 p.m. CT, 5:30 p.m. MT, 4:30 p.m. PT
Online. Click here to register and join us via Zoom
Please join us for a national mobilization call for the Block the Bombs to Israel week of action, featuring U.S. Representative Delia Ramirez (D-IL), the sponsor of H.R. 3565 in the House of Representatives, which aims to provide for a limitation on the transfer of defense articles and defense services to Israel. Ask your questions about the legislation and learn how you can help amplify the call to stop weapons sales to Israel.
Next week, Peace Action, along with dozens of other organizations, is coordinating a National Days of Action to Block the Bombs to Israel, culminating on the United Nations’ International Day of Peace, Sunday, Sept. 21st.
The National Days of Action to Block the Bombs to Israel builds on the escalating pressure we’ve worked on all summer, from No Kings Day and Good Trouble Lives On actions, emergency protests against the illegal Israeli and US bombings of Iran, ongoing actions to end the genocide in Gaza, and bird-dogging members of Congress around the country over the August recess.
Delia Ramirez is a stalwart fighter for working-class people and for peace. Most importantly, she’s a fighter for people over the Pentagon, recently telling us, “The Pentagon is the only federal agency to have never passed an audit. We must recognize that unquestioned defense budget increases come at the expense of working families, where Republicans question where every penny and dime of domestic spending for our social safety net goes.”
She is also the lead champion of the Block the Bombs to Israel Act in the House of Representatives, a bill that would proactively block the Trump administration from delivering additional major US weapons to Israel – including bombs, tank rounds, and artillery shells – all of which it has already used in its mass killing of Palestinians, including thousands of innocent civilians and children in Gaza. This bill currently has 41 additional co-sponsors, and we’ll discuss ongoing strategies both in Congress and at the grassroots level to grow that number even further.
As if all this weren’t enough, Delia Ramirez has a 100% pro-peace voting record with Peace Action.
At a recent outing in New Orleans, Rep. Ramirez proclaimed, “The opposite of war isn’t its absence. It’s the transformation and creation of something new. We are creation people… and we are part of a creation movement building forward.”
We’re thrilled to invite you, as a Peace Action supporter, to be a part of this transformation and creation of something new – a safer, saner, more just and peaceful world for everyone. Register here to join us today!
