poetry Alligator Alcatraz

California poet Anonymous lampoons James “Bulldog” Uthmeier, Florida Attorney General, who coined the name of the infamous Everglades detention center.

Who is this master of alliteration,
owner of a bitter humor,
ass-kisser

who paired a primitive animals name
with a civilized nations
savage aptitudes?

Anonymous warden of truth and pain,
you are todays alien,
unknown, unsung, and most likely, unpaid.

Anonymous has been writing poetry and fiction for over 50 years. They hope that having written this poem they will be arrested, and shipped off to some tropical detention center where their arthritis will improve. They are also mulling doffing the cloak of secrecy in hopes that it will improve the sales of their poetry books among a younger generation.
