Although labor education educates the individual, it also organizes the individual. It’s a kind of learning that progresses in sudden leaps and bounds, as people get the idea of the power of concerted collective activity and the whole group changes.
Throughout the entire history of left-wing and working-class organizing in the United States, the participation in and building of institutions of political education has been key.

Tom Juravich, interim Labor Center director, said the university will restore up to six teaching assistant positions that had before been in jeopardy. In addition, the university will support up to 12 graduate student externships, which will now be called internships.
