The government-promoted plans let employers completely off the hook and put the entire burden of retirement savings and investment management on workers. They put another nail in the coffin of traditional plans in which employers share the expense.
While Trump’s policies certainly deserve to be challenged, they should not be seen as a major departure from decades of cynical and treacherous U.S. policy toward the Kurdish people.
Trump is counting on his base to endorse his increasingly open law-breaking. It may not end well. His public appeal to China last week to help uncover dirt on the Biden family was both a brazen flouting of the law and an astute political tactic.
At the debates, Sanders and Warren have stood shoulder to shoulder, defending Medicare for All from tepid centrists. The two are longtime political allies. It's time for their supporters to do the same, and not get baited into flame wars.
