I can only conclude that the administration’s plans are either meant to pit stay-at-home parents against working ones, or to punish single parents — and their children — who need support the most.

In the U.S.—and across much of the world—fertility rates are falling, and populations are projected to shrink. People are having fewer children because the system makes it too hard, too risky, and too expensive.

So how can we give men what they want and let them be parents as well as workers?
