The video of Floyd's death is horrific but not surprising; terrible but not unusual, depicting a kind of incident that is periodically reënacted. It's necessary and, pedestrian to observe that policing in this country is mediated by race.
It is the cardinal sin of the American health system in a single surgery: save on preventive care, pay big on the backend, and let the chronically sick and underprivileged feel the extreme consequences.
