Movement judges as not interchangeable with partisan judges. Unlike a partisan judge, the movement judge will be tempted to advance a movement’s goals even when doing so may harm their political party’s electoral prospects.

The Supreme Court ruled race-based college admissions are unlawful, ending affirmative action programs at colleges. In her dissent, Supreme Court justice Ketanji Brown Jackson pulled no punches calling the ruling “let-them-eat-cake obliviousness.”

The GOP & the billionaires who fund them learned their lesson. Never again would they allow a rightwing justice to stray beyond the rigid ideological boundaries set at that justices’ confirmation.
