poetry My Small Reality

Has the war become boring, asks San Francisco poet Beau Beausoleil, how can you not hear the mourning birds?

My Small Reality

By Beau Beausoleil

Someone on

the radio says

that after

100 days

the war

in Ukraine

“has become

boring to some”

It is

summer

I am

in our

garden

where

I can

hear

the far

far away

I listen to

unseen

birds offering

a deep mournful

call

There is

more beauty

and fear

in this

world

than I can

comprehend
