poetry Where Are We Headed

Loss of liberty, the rise of civil terror, asks San Francisco poet Beau Beausoleil. Is that where we are headed?

Where Are We Headed
By Beau Beausoleil

We tie the words of desperate
border migrants into poems
that we lay at the feet
of the Statue of Liberty
who these days can be seen
cradling an AR-15
in one arm
and a dying child
in the other

Beau Beausoleil is a poet and activist based in San Francisco, California. His two most recent chapbooks are a limited edition portfolio of 20 poems entitled, The Killing of George Floyd (Intermittent Press 2023) and, Poems for Ukraine (Barley Books (UK) 2023).
