Special Focus: Violence against Asian Americans

A Supreme Court case from Arizona could neuter the law.

Speaking at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference last weekend, the former President positioned himself and his audience as the only true Americans.

“This is new, nothing like it before,” observed the labor historian Nelson Lichtenstein. “Politicians always give great speeches at union conventions and avoid union organizing campaigns because of possibility of failure. But Biden broke this norm."

"Pennsylvania's children should not be used as laboratory rats," said biologist Sandra Steingraber, who called fracking "an uncontrolled human experiment" that involves "toxic exposures."

The pandemic has put a spotlight on workers' rights issues and accelerated an organizing movement that's been slowly building in recent years — with actions such as the teachers' strikes in 2018 and the Fight for $15 movement.

Life should come before profit, human rights before property rights.

I have lived it and I have suffered through it and I know that when people say “get in line,” there is no line. I am here to try to change the system so that people have a pathway and if they choose to become a citizen, they can.

"We believe the solution to violence is to empower our communities with resources, support, and education — this is how we make all of our communities safe.”

The importance of this campaign, this movement, is not just to address health care issues of Black women but to actually give us the platform to where women like ourselves and women that are coming behind us will not have to deal with this issue...
