We are scholars who write on the Holocaust and genocide. We are deeply concerned about the U. S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s recent “Statement Regarding the Museum’s Position on Holocaust Analogies.” We write this public letter to urge its retraction

The U.S. has had a sanctions regime in place against Iran for decades, almost since the Iranian Revolution of 1979. The U.S., France, and Germany later reneged on their nuclear energy contracts with Iran keeping billions of dollars of Iranian money.

The proposed rule, published in the Federal Register on July 12th, would enable federal workers to drop union membership—and opt out of paying membership dues—at any point after their first year of membership.

Brigadistas will return to the U.S. to educate their communities about the realities seen and experienced in Cuba, and to advocate for the end of the blockade and travel ban, the return of occupied Guantánamo Bay, and truly normal relations.

A proposed rule would strip housing benefits from U.S. citizens if they’re found to have family members with the wrong immigration status.

While the political motivation behind these ICE raids is obviously a strategy to encourage Trump’s core supporter base, the less obvious strategy is to also further disrupt and exacerbate tensions within the Democrats’ core base, as well.

A range of U.S. policies have been deliberately designed to provoke an Iranian response.

In other words, we’re talking about a national epidemic of self-inflicted deaths.

No extent of reform can humanize an agency designed to criminalize migrants, deny their humanity, and profit off their detention and suffering. So Abolish ICE activists want to shut it down.
