The CIO unionized General Motors in 1937 and saved the labor movement. Today's unions need to do the same to Amazon if there is any hope of stopping the slow death of American labor.
The stakes are high for U.S. labor. If we are going to remain relevant, unions must meet the challenge of building worker power at such a behemoth by making Amazon organizing a project of the entire labor movement.

Workers are bombarded by false ideas about immigration and immigrants, that hold immigrants responsible for poverty, lost jobs and crime. To organize for political change, workers have to be convinced to support the rights of all working people.
The working class is in the fight of our lives. The unity between Trump and the billionaires exploiting us isn’t even hidden anymore. It will take a lot of organizing and ironclad working-class unity to match these forces, but the fight is on.

Difficult as it may be, unions must organize workers in the nation’s largest and most powerful corporations, and they cannot afford to wait for labor law reform or a more favorable administration to do so.
