labor Thank You, Portside Labor Readers

Once again our readers have come through in support of Portside Labor.

Portside Labor thanks its readers all over the world, piwik

Thank you, Thank you! Once again our readers have come through in support of Portside. Only this year, you and many other Portside readers contributed more than we have ever raised.

And, the contributions came from the largest number of readers who have ever responded to our annual fund appeal.

This year, contributions came from our regular readers - those subscribers who receive daily messages from Portside or Portside Labor. New this year - we also received contributions from readers who read Portside one the web only, via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or our RSS feed.

Because of the success of our annual fund appeal, we can now plan on doing the following:

  • Create an attractive Daily Digest that includes all current Portside Feature - the five daily Portside posts, the Portside Labor post, and our Quote of the Day and Toon of the Day features. (Presently our Quotes and Toons of the Day are viewable daily on our website, and once a week, on Saturday, as part of our REWIND composite post. Now Digest readers will be able to get thumbnails and links to these daily with the same for the regular messages.)
  • A re-design of the Portside home page, to make it much easier for readers to subscribe our different features.
  • The possible addition of other regular themed posts, like Portside Labor.

Portside depends on feedback from your, our readers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sending us articles, suggestions, links to articles or toons, and your comments (much of which is used in our weekly Tidbits posting).

Portside asks our readers for support once a year. Others (and we are sure you were bombarded with these in the last month), continuously ask for financial support. We are able to do this only once a year, because you -  our readers - continue to respond in such a great way; and because all of us working on Portside are volunteers. We like what we do, and do it for you and others.

Again, we want to thank you. We know that these are tough economic times and truly appreciate your contribution. Maybe you will consider becoming a regular sustainer to Portside, in whatever amount with which you are comfortable.  We make it easy - check our secure web donation page  and scroll down to "Recur Frequency". (If you would prefer to send your contribution by check, the address is at the bottom,)

Again, many thanks from the left side of the ship - the portside.
