It was Dr. King’s radical shift towards internationalism, anti-capitalism, and anti-imperialism that frightened those in power by challenging their ability to use alternate methods of control in the post-civil rights era.
After the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute withdrew the annual Fred L. Shuttlesworth Human Rights Award from Angela Davis, the outcry in Birmingham, nationally and internationally has been massive. Angela will be in Birmingham February 16.
