Sanders’s Medicare for All bill is built on the understanding that revolutions take time.

Rallying behind Sanders bill, groups say "we will never stop fighting" for Medicare for All

Ironically, healthcare reform efforts have sought to "improve and expand" every element of the present system, except the program that works best: Medicare. The Clintons tried to expand HMOs, Obama expanded private health insurance and Medicaid, the GOP tried to expand "individual purchase. Medicare—if improved and expanded to all—could confront the industry, contain prices and restore the values of caring and community to our healthcare system.

Unequal access to transportation and housing disenfranchises many low-income communities. Teenagers who attempt to obtain medical care often experience these inequalities in a heightened way given that they often lack the time, money, and autonomy required to seek the care and information they need. Black people in the United States are among the most discriminated against when it comes to health care—which is further exacerbated when they are not a cisgender man.

Both parties aren't addressing our health care needs — now is the time for socialists to lead a national Medicare for All campaign.

Because Republicans have been so successful in keeping many of their residents from getting insurance, they think the country should trust them to overhaul heath care.
