U.S. school bus drivers in nationwide strikes over poor pay and Covid risk
Drivers are left ‘begging for better pay’ even as the school bus driver shortage is worsening in the new school year.
The group is pushing legislation that would give health plans — including those managed by labor unions — more leverage to haggle over the price of health care and eliminate certain anti-competitive practices.
Farmworkers fought for years to have the legal power to unionize in New York State. Finally, in 2019, the state passed the Farm Laborers Fair Labor Practices Act, which gave agricultural and farm workers the right to collectively bargain.
