The 84th Anniversary of the Spanish Civil War
By Simon Anton Niño Diego Baena
The night lingers
in my hotel room
the spilled wine
the broken glass
more empty pages for me
to fill
with the horn
summoning the dead of the republic
back to Estremadura
blood soaked
like a bullring
I smell the stains
of the moon
on the crumpled bed sheets
