Trump’s policies against immigrants are an intensification of the Obama administration’s targeting of Central American refugees through raids going after women and children in January 2016 as well as using large scale family detention as a deterrence mechanism aimed at stopping others fearing for their lives from fleeing to the US. The Trump administration is flagrantly exacerbating harmful U.S. immigration and foreign policies implemented for over a century.

We'll either save or doom the planet during the Trump administration. Don't sit the Peoples Climate Mobilization out. Trump is either the end of the fight for a working planet Earth - or the moment when that fight turns truly serious. That choice is not up to him. It's up to the rest of us. See you in DC.

The peace movement is where realism about U.S. military madness lives. The movement is the main challenger to nationalism and xenophobia, and the main force for internationalism in an interconnected world. It abides in the best political instincts in every other progressive social movement. Restoring it is a collective responsibility for the entire range of forces shocked into motion by the 2016 election.

This cruel and greedy document [2-6] savages everything that we in public health and so many others know is necessary for people, communities, and our planet to thrive [7-9].

The Science March is about respecting science, the Peoples Climate March is about acting on it. One march is about listening to science, the other is about acting on it. Today's march, taking place on Earth Day, will march in defense of truth and scientific fact. Next week the Peoples Climate March will put forward a vision to build bold solutions that tackle climate change, create and retain fair jobs, and bring forth justice truly for all.
