Climate Change
By Eve Sutton
You swore to love me ‘til rivers ran dry
And birds no longer filled the sky
And fish no longer filled the sea
And every flower lost its bee…
‘Til the North Pole melted, and South Pole, too,
And blue skies were no longer blue
And forests lacked both tree and bear…
I see you meant a brief affair.
