America has long faced structural economic crises. Democrats must win on the economy and present a pro-worker agenda. Now is the time for Democrats to take the fight to the reactionary Republican party and expose their anti-worker views
We now have more income and wealth inequality than at any time in the last hundred years. And it’s not just income and wealth inequality that is plaguing our nation. It is the maldistribution of economic and political power.
This bill was a chance to do big things. It did very modest things. It was a chance to stand up boldly for the working families of our country and restore their faith in government. It didn't.

If we cannot pass a comprehensive piece of legislation, we should divide it up into separate bills and members of the Senate should have to vote on the very popular agenda we are fighting for. That's how you win elections.
This reconciliation bill is being opposed by every Republican in Congress as well as the drug companies, the insurance companies, the fossil fuel industry and the billionaire class. They want to maintain the status quo in which the rich get richer.
