Congress expelled 14 members for supporting sedition and insurrection previously who supported the Confederacy against the union in 1861. Today we also have seditious members of Congress who sought to overthrow the election of the president.

With his incitement of a direct assault on the people’s house, Trump has forfeited his claim to finish his term. The House must again impeach him, and the Senate must vote to remove him. It must bar him from ever again serving in public office.

Across the country, protesters have rallied outside, as well as inside, state capitol buildings over Trump’s false claims of voter fraud. New session of Pennsylvania Senate got off to a chaotic start, with GOP refusing to seat a Democratic senator.

President Trump should be impeached, removed from office, and then arrested for inciting his supporters to besiege and invade the US Capitol. Because the rioters were white, they were allowed to walk away. But just imagine if they had been Black.
