A living left will always contain different traditions and debates, but we must recognise the principal contradiction between labour and capital, between the vast majority who produce social wealth and the tiny minority who appropriate it.
The big lesson is that if the left unites and seeks to mobilise people, it can win. The dynamic of unity can create confidence and enthuse others to get involved. The question of a Left government once again comes increasingly centre stage.
