Towards An Abolitionist Feminism

Zillah Eisenstein The Feminist Wire
As an anti-racist white feminist, I wonder if it is enough to be an “ally” in this present and “newest” moment of racist/militarist/carceral violence. Or, is there something more to do? I am thinking hard about this “newness,” which is also very old. White anti-racist feminists can take the lead from our Black and Brown sisters and embrace an abolitionist stance towards chattel slavery and its racist and misogynist remains.

Kevin Gosztola Firedoglake
The establishment US media’s backlash against award winning journalist Seymour Hersh for his report in the London Review of Books on the raid that killed Osama bin Laden has fueled a perception that it has been wholly discredited. Yet, a key part of Hersh’s report has now been corroborated by the New York Times’ Carlotta Gall, a Pakistan newspaper, and partly by NBC News. Hersh’s report challenges the Obama Administration claims on the capture of Bin Laden.
