Together, neighbors from the community, as well as supporters from across Greensboro, are building their very own cooperatively owned grocery store - the Renaissance Community Coop!
We want a store that sells real food, is within walking distance for many neighborhood residents, returns surplus money to the community, and contributes to the health and wealth of our community.
Voter suppression is not new. We've seen grandfather clauses, poll taxes, and literacy tests as historical barriers to the vote. Now, we see a reduction in voter flexibility, with more ID requirements, fewer early voting days, and stricter rules about voter registration.

“You guys are probably in the generation that is on the precipice of a change in the labor movement,” United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1208 President Keith Ludlum told the assembled workers, most under 30. “Us old guys and some of us who have been around awhile, we can advise you on things, but don’t be afraid to push the envelope,” Ludlum said. “Don’t be afraid to do things a little bit different. Be radical. Go after them hard and don’t ever stop.”
