Bernie Sanders thanks the Koch brothers for sponsoring a study that shows that Medicare for all would save the American people $2 trillion dollars over a ten year period. Probably not what they intended to do, but that is what a study of the Mercatus Center - significantly funded by the Kochs - shows.
On July 30, Medicare turns 53. For over half a century, it has provided healthcare as a right to all Americans over 65 and many disabled Americans. It has saved countless lives and kept millions out of poverty.
Eschewing policies to lower costs here, the president tells drug companies to raise their prices abroad. (We’re not making this up.)

Single payer would simplify all of this by largely cutting out the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and untethering coverage from your job. The losers are those middlemen, like private insurance companies, that make the current system so frustrating to navigate and politically fraught. Also, much to the dismay of the wealthiest households, their taxes would increase the most of any group.
