Whether you're talking about the East Wing, the rule of law, democracy or health care, Trump seems bent on destruction. Now he wants to resume nuclear testing. What could go wrong?

Re: Wage Stagnation vs. Living Wages for U.S. Workers Today

(posting on Portside Labor)

Don't I know it. I'm a nurse and I remember a 4 year contract a few years back where our "raises" were 1.5%, 1%, 0.5% and 0.5%. When compared to inflation, it was the same as taking a pay cut every single year.

Re: Socialism or Barbarism

Eric Ross's piece on American Left history leaves out a lot, naturally. But we can't understand that history without acknowledging the Communist Party. Every progressive movement drew some strength from it. Its real organizing power offered more than inspiration, from labor and the unemployed to civil rights to women's rights to the fight against fascism. Even the LGBTQ movement, which the CP did not anticipate and originally scorned, was birthed by party member Harry Hay. We shouldn't be afraid to face the party's historical failings, but neither should we 'dare not speak its name'.

Mamdani  --  Cartoon and Commentary by Rob Rogers

Trump inserted himself into the NYC mayor's race with a last-ditch endorsement of Cuomo on Monday night. It must burn him that his birth city voted for a democratic socialist.

Organizers Conference Weekend
November 21st-23rd, 2025

JOIN US FOR ONE WEEKEND OR BOTH!

Circle Pines Center is creating the CPC Organizing Institute because we recognize the need to network with organizations providing organizing skills to disinvested and marginalized populations as well as young adults. We have an extensive facility and campground on 275 acres 35 minutes from Kalamazoo, MI that is making an effort to network with young adult activists in the region.

We aspire to create tangible programming to build trust with systemically and institutionally marginalized communities in Southwest Michigan and the wider midwest region. There are a number of program opportunities for young adults and youth in social justice organizing skills but none that focus on training organizers to be trainers themselves.

Our CPC Organizing institute will run on a pilot basis for two weekends in November of 2025 providing training and networking opportunities for regional activists. We have sourced professional trainers to create and assist with this pilot program and will provide cutting edge training for all participants.
